Innovation Lock is the technology division of Delta Lock Company. Its creation was driven by the need to bring lock security into the 21 st century. One would be hard pressed to think of any venue that did not have a lock of some kind on some enclosure, door , safe, etc. Locks are rarely understood by those who use them; as long as they open and close , they seem to serve the purpose. Yet, even though locks are the least expensive part of a fixture or door, they are the gatekeeper of the assets container therein or the barrier against unauthorized entry to a secured property. 

While there will always be as need for mechanical locks, locks are inherently not very smart; their communication skills are severely lacking. Enter the world of the IOT (Internet of Things) and “Smart” everything- locks and keys included. Smart products communicate with the user, they provide data and analytics that alert, inform and give critical information desired by the user. There is however a price to pay for intelligence and the questions then become both financial and logistical- can it be afforded and what has to be done to accommodate it?
